Applications Open for the 2026 Nurlan Kapparov Scholarship

ATU Endowment is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2026 Nurlan Kapparov Scholarship Competition.

The scholarship aims to support talented, motivated, and socially active applicants who are applying for undergraduate degree programmes at Almaty Technological University (ATU).

Successful applicant(s) will receive a scholarship covering up to 100% of the first-year tuition fee.

The scholarship amount will be determined by the Foundation's Standing Expert Commission based on the competition results, the number of recipients, and the Foundation's available funding.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants are eligible to participate if they:

  • are applying for a tuition-based undergraduate programme at Almaty Technological University (ATU);
  • hold a valid Unified National Testing (UNT) certificate;
  • have scored 50 points or above and met the minimum required threshold score for each UNT subject.

Competition Task

Applicants are required to prepare and submit an original video on the following topic:

"ATU – The Path to My Future Profession"

Requirements:

  • Maximum duration: 3 minutes (180 seconds);
  • The video must be published on the applicant's public Instagram account.

Applicants must tag:

  • @atu_media
  • @endowmentfund.atu

and use the following hashtags:

Evaluation Criteria

Applications will be evaluated by the Standing Expert Commission of ATU Endowment according to the following criteria:

The video submission will be assessed based on:

  • relevance to the competition theme;
  • originality;
  • quality of content;
  • communication and presentation skills;
  • persuasiveness;
  • creativity.

Applicant motivation will be assessed based on:

  • informed choice of university;
  • enthusiasm for learning;
  • willingness to participate in university life;
  • commitment to professional development.

In the event of a tie, preference will be given to the applicant with the higher UNT score.

Applicants must submit the following documents by 25 August 2026 to:

Please submit copies of:

  • ID card or passport;
  • secondary school certificate (or college diploma);
  • Unified National Testing (UNT) certificate;
  • confirmation of application for a tuition-based undergraduate programme at ATU;
  • link to the published Instagram video.

Applicants are also encouraged to submit supporting documents demonstrating their achievements, including:

  • diplomas;
  • certificates;
  • awards;
  • other documents confirming academic, creative, athletic, or community achievements.

📢 Competition results will be announced by 30 August 2026.

Scholarship Recipient Responsibilities

Scholarship recipients are expected to participate in ATU Endowment volunteer activities for at least 80 hours during their first academic year.
